The Complete Process

Step by Step.

Every stage of your team's journey — from first application to Edge Elite graduation.

01

Apply for the Edge Audit

15 minutes to apply · 48hr initial review

Everything starts with an application. A trading team — whether a solo PM or a multi-strategy firm — applies through the EdgeNexus platform. You provide your team details, strategy overview, and basic track record information. This is the front door to the Edge ecosystem.

Submit team name, location, and contact details
Describe your strategy type and asset class
Provide initial track record summary (monthly returns, AUM history)
Share any existing marketing materials or tear sheets
No commitment required at this stage — this is an introduction
48-hour initial review by our capital introduction team
02

Strategy Evaluation & Numbers Review

3–5 business days

Our team conducts a deep evaluation of your strategy and performance numbers. We don't just look at returns — we analyse risk-adjusted metrics, consistency, drawdown characteristics, and whether the strategy is repeatable and scalable. This is where we separate genuine alpha from luck or market beta.

Risk-adjusted return analysis (Sharpe ratio, Sortino ratio, Information ratio)
Maximum drawdown assessment and recovery patterns
CAGR and cumulative return verification against benchmarks
Win rate, profit factor, and trade-level analysis
Volatility profile and correlation to major indices
Track record depth — we look for 12+ months minimum (24+ preferred)
Strategy capacity assessment — can it scale to £10M, £50M, £100M+?
Comparison against peer strategies in our benchmark database
03

The Edge Audit — Founder's Interrogation

1–2 hours session · Decision within 48 hours

This is what makes EdgeNexus different. Unlike automated platforms, we require a 1-to-1 session with our capital introduction specialists — the people who have raised £520M in H1 2026. This is a rigorous interrogation of your trading edge: why it works, how it's repeatable, what could break it, and whether you have the operational maturity to manage institutional capital.

1-on-1 video session with Edge Nexus introduction specialists
Deep dive into your strategy thesis and edge origin
Stress-test scenarios — what happens in extreme market conditions?
Operational assessment — team structure, risk controls, compliance posture
Pedigree review — institutional background, references, AUM history
This is a 'Club' entry — not everyone passes. We only approve teams we'd put our own capital behind
If you pass, you're granted entry to the Incubator Programme
04

Document Collection & Verification

1–2 weeks (depends on document availability)

Once you pass the Edge Audit, we collect and verify all institutional-grade documentation. Our Profile Builder tool can parse your uploaded documents (PDFs, Excel files, tear sheets) and automatically extract data into your team profile. Everything must be verified and in line before your profile goes live.

Verified track record data — monthly returns, NAV history, AUM progression
Tear sheets and performance reports (audited preferred)
DDQ (Due Diligence Questionnaire) documentation
Data room access for institutional verification
Legal entity documents — company registration, jurisdiction, regulatory licences
Team bios and leadership backgrounds
Fund vehicle documentation and offering memoranda
Authorised signatory details and contract preparation info
All documents parsed and structured via our AI-powered Profile Builder
05

Marketing Materials & Edge IP Write-Up

1–2 weeks (concurrent with document collection)

This is where EdgeNexus adds value that no other platform offers. Our analysts don't just list your profile — they write your institutional narrative. The Edge IP Write-Up is a 15-page investment memorandum that explains your strategy, why the alpha is sustainable, and why allocators should trust you with capital. We also calculate your Edge Score™ — the proprietary ranking that replaces pitch decks.

15-page institutional Investment Memorandum authored by Edge analysts
Edge Score™ calculation (Performance 40% + Operational Readiness 35% + Pedigree 25%)
Professional team profile with verified metrics badge
Strategy breakdown with risk metrics visualised
Edge Write-Up goes through draft → review requested → approved workflow
Investment Introduction paragraph authored by our team for allocator outreach
Your profile becomes allocator-ready — standardised, audited, and compelling
Tear sheet syndication preparation for distribution
06

Approved — Join the Incubator Programme

Immediate upon approval and contract signing

Once all information is verified and in line — strategy evaluated, documents collected, Edge Write-Up approved — you're formally accepted into the EdgeNexus Incubator Programme. This is the £0–£5M AUM phase. You pay a SaaS subscription (£1,250/month or £12,000/year), your profile goes live on the Discovery Feed, and you become visible to our 30+ verified allocators.

Exchange Connection & Trading Setup

30 minutes to connect · Auto-sync ongoing

To provide live performance data to allocators, you connect your exchange accounts via API. Our platform supports 15+ major exchanges (Binance, Bybit, OKX, Coinbase, Kraken, and more). Once connected, your live positions, P&L, and NAV feed automatically into your profile — giving allocators real-time confidence in your performance. For teams without exchange API access, we support manual reporting uploads.

Connect exchange API keys (Binance, Bybit, OKX, Coinbase, Kraken, Deribit, and 10+ more)
Read-only API access — we never touch your funds, only read performance data
Automated sync every 15 minutes (configurable)
Real-time NAV, open positions, and P&L displayed on your profile
For non-API teams — daily or weekly manual return uploads supported
Exchange connection status and last sync visible on your dashboard
Sub-account support for teams running multiple strategies
Secure credential storage with AES-256 encryption

Your profile is now live on the Discovery Feed. Allocators browsing the platform can find you by asset class, strategy type, Sharpe ratio, Edge Score, and more. But we don't just wait for allocators to browse — our system actively pushes Match Alerts to allocators whose mandates align with your strategy. This is the Active Liquidity Bridge in action.

Allocators filter by asset class, strategy, Sharpe, drawdown, Edge Score

Allocator Introductions via EdgeConnect

Under 4 hours average bridge approval

When an allocator is interested, they request an introduction through EdgeConnect. Our team moderates the request and, if approved, opens a secure communication bridge — typically via Telegram or WhatsApp — directly between you and the allocator. Average bridge approval time is under 4 hours. This is where capital relationships begin.

Allocator requests introduction through the platform
Edge team reviews and approves the match (quality control)
Secure bridge opened — typically Telegram or WhatsApp group
Average bridge approval: under 4 hours
You communicate directly with the allocator — Edge facilitates, doesn't intermediate
Multiple concurrent introductions possible — no exclusivity lock-in during Incubator
All introductions logged in your dashboard for tracking
10

Raise Capital — Investors Allocate to You

Near-instant dispersal once investor locks in blend

As allocator relationships develop, capital commitments are made. Investors who have funds in the Edge Nexus Managed Bond select your strategy as part of their blend — and their capital is dispersed to your trading account via our SMA infrastructure or direct exchange transfer. You receive the capital, see it land in your trading account, and start trading with it almost instantly.

Investors select your team as part of their strategy blend
Capital dispersed from the Managed Bond to your trading account
SMA (Separately Managed Account) route — capital in a dedicated sub-account under custody
Direct exchange transfer route — for teams with own infrastructure
Near-instant dispersal (minutes, not days)
Capital amount and allocation percentage visible in your dashboard
Lock-in periods apply — investors commit capital for defined windows
You see exactly how much capital is allocated to you and by whom
11

Trade, Generate Returns & Report

Continuous — you trade, we track, investors see results

You trade with the allocated capital according to your verified strategy. Your performance flows back to investor dashboards in real-time (if exchange-connected) or via daily/weekly uploads (if manually reporting). Every trade, position, and P&L figure is visible to your allocated investors and tracked on your team profile. This transparency is what builds trust and attracts more capital.

Trade with allocated capital per your verified strategy
Real-time API feeds show positions, P&L, and NAV to investors (exchange-connected teams)
Daily or weekly return uploads for manually reporting teams
Performance metrics auto-calculated: Sharpe, Sortino, max drawdown, CAGR
Risk limits enforced — drawdown caps protect investor capital
Kill-switch capability if risk thresholds breached
Your track record builds on the platform — every month of verified performance strengthens your profile
Monthly performance updates pushed to all allocated investors

What We Look For

Evaluation Metrics.

During the strategy evaluation phase (Step 2), here are the metrics we analyse. You don't need to be perfect on every one — but you need to be genuinely strong where it matters.

Metric
Weight
Target
Why It Matters
Sharpe Ratio
Critical
> 1.5
Risk-adjusted return. Below 1.0 is unlikely to pass; above 2.0 is exceptional.
Sortino Ratio
High
> 2.0
Downside-risk-adjusted return. Shows how well you manage losses, not just volatility.
Max Drawdown
Critical
< 20%
Largest peak-to-trough decline. Deeper than 30% raises serious concerns.
CAGR
High
> 15%
Compound annual growth rate. Must beat benchmarks meaningfully after fees.
Win Rate
Medium
Varies
Percentage of profitable periods. Less important than risk-adjusted consistency.
Track Record Length
High
12+ months
Minimum 12 months required; 24+ months preferred for institutional credibility.
Strategy Capacity
High
£10M+
Can your strategy absorb institutional capital without performance degradation?
Operational Maturity
Critical
Institutional
Risk controls, compliance posture, team structure, and reporting capability.

Not sure if you qualify? Apply anyway. The Edge Audit is designed to find teams with genuine edge — even if your numbers aren't perfect on paper. Our capital introduction specialists can often see potential that raw metrics don't capture. The worst that happens is you get feedback on what to improve before reapplying.

Common Questions

Trading Team FAQ.

Q.Do I need an existing track record to apply?

Yes — we require a minimum of 12 months of verified track record (24+ preferred). This can be from a personal trading account, a previous fund, or a prop firm. What matters is that the returns are real, auditable, and representative of your strategy. If you're a new team with no track record, we recommend building one before applying.

Q.What happens if I don't pass the Edge Audit?

Not passing the Edge Audit isn't the end — our team provides detailed feedback on what fell short and what to improve. Many teams reapply after addressing the gaps (strengthening risk controls, extending track record, improving operational maturity). The audit is rigorous by design — we only approve teams we'd put our own capital behind.

Q.How much does it cost to join?

The Incubator Programme is £1,250/month (or £12,000/year, saving 20%). This includes full platform access, the Edge Audit, your 15-page Investment Memorandum, live performance dashboard, allocator network visibility, and EdgeConnect bridge access. Once you've raised £5M+, the SaaS fee is permanently waived and you transition to a P&L split model.

Q.Do I give up control of my trading?

Never. You retain full control of your strategy and trading decisions. EdgeNexus provides the institutional wrapper — audit, narrative, allocator network, infrastructure — but we never tell you how to trade. Capital allocated to you is yours to trade per your verified strategy, subject to agreed risk limits (drawdown caps) that protect investor capital.

Q.How do allocators find me?

Three ways: (1) Allocators browse the Discovery Feed and filter by asset class, strategy, Sharpe, and Edge Score. (2) Our system proactively pushes Match Alerts to allocators whose mandates align with your strategy. (3) Our capital introduction team actively markets verified teams to our allocator network through outreach campaigns (especially in the Bridge tier).

Q.What's the difference between SMA and direct exchange transfer?

SMA (Separately Managed Account) means investor capital sits in a dedicated sub-account under Edge Nexus custody — you have trading access but not withdrawal access. Direct exchange transfer means capital is sent to your own exchange account — typically for elite-tier teams with their own infrastructure. Both routes provide real-time performance tracking back to investors.

Q.Can I be on other platforms simultaneously?

Yes. The Incubator Programme is non-exclusive — you're free to maintain presence on other capital introduction platforms. However, once you graduate to Edge Elite (£5M+ raised), we transition to a Performance-Based Capital Introduction Agreement which may include exclusivity terms for off-platform bespoke campaigns. This is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
